Brooklyn Psychedelic Psychotherapy is building a network of experienced therapists and guides.

Ari Borinsky, LCSW

I consider myself a transpersonal psychotherapist... meaning I see human suffering through a spiritual and existential lens. I have trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (somatic) and find it very important to bring the body into our healing journeys. I hold a B.A. in Philosophy and Spanish Literature from Vanderbilt University and consider it essential to weave philosophical principles into my work with clients.

I attended Columbia University’s School of Social Work and accrued my clinical psychotherapy hours while working in a community mental health clinic with a diverse client population.

I have extensive experience working with Amazonian plant medicines and I travel to Peru regularly for Ayahuasca "dietas" and San Pedro retreats. I have an alliance with a well known retreat center located in the Sacred Valley (outside of Cusco) and will be leading groups of mental health practitioners to work with sacred medicines beginning in August 2023.

I have trained in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) with Dr. Phil Wolfson (the ketamine guru) and have completed Dr. Joe Tafur's transformational course in Traditional Amazonian Plant Medicine. I recently finished Vital's 12-month Psychedelic Training Certificate Program where I trained in psilocybin-assisted therapy at Psychedelic Insights Retreat Center in the Netherlands.
